The Client
MELSS Automation Ltd.(MAL) is a subsidiary of MEL Systems and Services Limited - an associate of the Rs.5000 Crore Murugappa Group. A well-known name in the Project and Process Automation company space, they are involved in turn-key System Design, Procurement, Manufacturing and Installation and Maintenance of Systems in Process Control and factory automation.
Headquartered at Chennai with a specialized manufacturing unit at Perungudi, they wanted automate their operations of Financials & Banking, Receivables & Payables management, Sales & Services, Manufacturing, Projects and Service Management and statutory reporting.
Business Need
- The client's business goal was to have a better Project-based monitoring of its systems and departments - Marketing, Financials, Commercial, Projects and Service.
- Increased market demand required that the ERP be able to scale up and meet the demand in sales.
- Being a niche player in the market, the client wanted to achieve market leader status by better monitoring of its Projects and the complete cycle from Marketing to Service.
- There was a need for faster release cycles and product stabilization to meet increased demand from clients.
- To improve effective management of Enquiries and Project Revenue vs. Expenses, it was important to introduce a Planning and Monitoring tool.
